Monno Ceramic Industries fiscal Q3 profit falls YOY

Monno Ceramic Industries Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended March 31 amounted to 2 poisha per share, a gain of 13.4% from 2 poisha per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 337,500 taka, a decline of 12.2% from 384,380 taka in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 0.2% from 0.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 44.2% on an annual basis to 200.2 million taka from 138.8 million taka, and total operating expenses rose 50.8% year over year to 187.5 million taka from 124.4 million taka.

Reported net income totaled 374,000 taka, or 2 poisha per share, compared to 483,000 taka, or 2 poisha per share, in the prior-year period.

As of April 30, US$1 was equivalent to 77.92 taka.
