Fujiya Q3 profit falls YOY

ABM Fujiya Bhd. said its third-quarter normalized net income amounted to 550,000 ringgits, a fall of 36.7% from 868,750 ringgits in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.

The normalized profit margin declined to 2.0% from 3.5% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 12.0% on an annual basis to 27.6 million ringgits from 24.6 million ringgits, and total operating expenses climbed 15.1% from the prior-year period to 26.3 million ringgits from 22.8 million ringgits.

Reported net income fell 13.1% from the prior-year period to 685,000 ringgits, or 0 sen per share, from 788,000 ringgits, or 0 sen per share.

As of Nov. 18, US$1 was equivalent to 4.36 ringgits.
