Ardent Leisure profit misses consensus by 51.6% in fiscal H1

Ardent Leisure Group said its normalized net income for the fiscal first half ended Dec. 31, 2014, amounted to 4 Australian cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 8 cents per share.

EPS decreased 9.9% year over year from 4 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was A$16.3 million, a decline from A$17.0 million in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 14.1% on an annual basis to A$285.9 million from A$250.6 million, and total operating expenses climbed 17.0% from the prior-year period to A$254.7 million from A$217.6 million.

Reported net income fell 16.4% on an annual basis to A$18.8 million, or 4 cents per share, from A$22.5 million, or 6 cents per share.
