Apple Inc. added another lawsuit to its ongoing legal battle with Qualcomm Inc.
The tech giant countersued the chip-maker, claiming that its Snapdragon 800 and 820 mobile phone chips infringe on Apple's battery life patents, Reuters reported Nov. 29, citing a filing in U.S. District Court in San Diego. The chips are used in phones from Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and in Alphabet Inc.'s Pixel phones.
Apple is seeking unspecified damages from Qualcomm.
Earlier this month, Qualcomm sued Apple over an alleged breach of contract.
Apple, which began using Intel Corp.'s modem chips in the iPhone 7, reportedly plans to drop Qualcomm chips in the 2018 iPhone and iPad models.
