Escalade Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended July 11 amounted to 20 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 18 cents per share.
EPS climbed 11.5% year over year from 18 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $2.8 million, an increase of 12.4% from $2.5 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin fell to 6.5% from 6.6% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 15.2% on an annual basis to $43.8 million from $38.0 million, and total operating expenses rose 16.3% on an annual basis to $39.6 million from $34.1 million.
Reported net income rose 15.9% on an annual basis to $3.3 million, or 23 cents per share, from $2.8 million, or 20 cents per share.
