Equinix to build Singapore data center for $85M

Data center real estate investment trust Equinix Inc. is building a seven-story International Business Exchange data center in the Tai Seng Industrial Estate area of Singapore for $85.3 million.

The first phase of the SG4 project will provide more than 45,400 square feet of colocation space, with initial capacity for 1,400 cabinets. The facility is expected to have more than 132,180 square feet of colocation space and more than 4,000 cabinets at full build out and is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter.

The REIT has three existing IBX data centers in Singapore, with more than 445,000 square feet of colocation space.
