Terna energizes 2nd phase of Texas wind project

Greece-headquartered renewable energy developer Terna Energy SA started commercial operations on the 158-MW Gopher Creek wind farm, the second phase of a wind project in Scurry and Borden counties, Texas.

Tri Global Energy LLC began developing the two-phase Fluvanna wind energy project in 2011 and sold it to Terna Energy in 2016, Terna said in a Sept. 24 news release. The first phase of the Fluvanna wind project has a capacity of 155 MW and began operating in 2017.

An infrastructure fund of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners K/S provided mezzanine financing to a Terna affiliate for the Fluvanna facility earlier in September.

Terna Energy is part of GEK TERNA Holdings Real Estate Construction SA.
