A member of the Bank of England's Prudential Regulation Committee is departing to become chair of the board risk committee at Barclays Plc's Barclays Bank UK.
David Thorburn will serve as a nonexecutive director of the bank, which is to be the U.K. lender's ring-fenced unit under legislation requiring banks to separate retail activities from riskier business.
Thorburn resigned from the PRC with a view to returning to the private sector, and will complete the board composition at Barclays Bank UK. He is a former CEO of Clydesdale Bank Plc.
