Manulife Investment Management launched a new secondary investment business within its private markets group and appointed Jeff Hammer and Paul Sanabria as global co-heads of the business.

The two are expected to build a global secondary investment capability focusing on general partner-led and special situation transactions, and to partner with private equity, private credit, and secondary fund sponsors.

Hammer and Sanabria are senior managing directors and global co-heads of secondaries at Manulife Investment Management. Both spent the past 10 years as co-heads of Houlihan Lokey Inc.'s illiquid financial assets practice, which they co-founded.
