The U.S. Missile Defense Agency awarded Orbital Sciences Corp., a subsidiary of Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems Inc., with a $1.12 billion contract, according to a press release from the U.S. Department of Defense.
As part of the contract, Orbital Sciences will supply threat-representative subscale targets with simple and complex reentry vehicles. It will also provide storage, surveillance and maintenance services of hardware and software to the Missile Defense Agency.
The contract period runs until September 2027.
