Midstream giant Williams names former MPLX CFO to board of directors

Williams Cos. Inc. appointed Nancy Buese as an independent director on its board, effective immediately.

Buese is replacing Janice Stoney following her retirement, according to a June 4 news release. Buese was also named a member of the board's compensation and management development, and environmental health and safety committees.

Buese previously served as the executive vice president and CFO of the midstream energy company MPLX LP and is currently the executive vice president and CFO of the Colorado-based mining company Newmont Mining Corp.

Williams provides infrastructure for U.S. natural gas and natural gas products operated through its master limited partnership Williams Partners LP. Williams is in the process of buying the outstanding units of Williams Partners it does not already own to simplify its corporate structure.
