Utah municipal utility closes purchase of 57.6-MW Idaho wind farm

Utah Associated Municipal Power Systems completed the acquisition of the 57.6-MW Horse Butte wind facility in Bonneville County, Idaho, from Forsyth Street Asset Management LLC affiliate Forsyth Street Renewables I LLC.

The 32-turbine project began operations in August 2012 and is interconnected with the transmission grid owned by the Bonneville Power Administration. Horse Butte holds a long-term power purchase agreement with Utah Associated Municipal Power, which is an interlocal association and a political subdivision of the state of Utah.

The parties closed the transaction March 5, according to a March 8 notice filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. (FERC docket EC18-48)
