BCPL International swings to profit in fiscal H1

BCPL International Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first half ended Sept. 30 was 1.7 million rupees, compared with a loss of 107,500 rupees in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.

Total revenue increased year over year to 258.6 million rupees from 2.7 million rupees, and total operating expenses increased year over year to 255.6 million rupees from 2.7 million rupees.

Reported net income came to 2.7 million rupees, or 1 paise per share, compared to a loss of 172,000 rupees, or a loss of 1 paise per share, in the year-earlier period.

As of Nov. 10, US$1 was equivalent to 66.24 Indian rupees.
