Hydro-Québec selects project under wind solicitation

Hydro-Québec Distribution has chosen Valeco Énergie Québec Inc.'s planned facility as the winning proposal for the purchase of wind power produced in Îles-de-la-Madeleine, Quebec.

The Parc éolien de la Dune-du-Nord project has a contractual capacity of 6.4 MW, according to a March 9 news release.

The power purchase agreement, subject to the approval of the Régie de l'énergie, is for a 20-year term beginning Oct. 1, 2019.

Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton served as Hydro-Québec Distribution's official representative in the tendering process.

Hydro-Québec Distribution is a subsidiary of Hydro-Québec.
