Verizon offering new Fios pricing structure

Verizon Communications Inc. announced a new pricing plan through which it will offer pay TV, internet and phone offerings as stand-alone services.

The plan offers new choices for video packages. The most basic package, “Your Fios TV,” allows subscribers for $50 a month to select their five favorite channels from among a group of 200, and then Verizon will recommend a package with around 125 channels that is tailored to the viewer's preferences.

The other TV plans are "More Fios TV," which for $70 a month gives customers 300+ channels and includes one set-top box, and "Most Fios TV," which for $90 offers 425+ channels and includes a set-top box and a $12 DVR service credit. Verizon is also offering YouTube TV to its internet subscribers for $49.99 a month.

All of the video plans include local broadcast networks.

For $50 a month, Verizon will allow customers to "test drive" all of the channels it offers for 60 days. After reviewing the customer's actual viewing habits, the telco will recommend a plan that is tailored to the household.

There are three Fios Internet options available under the new structure: 100 Mbps for $39.99 a month, 300 Mbps for $59.99 a month, and a Gigabit connection for $79.99 a month.

Unlimited home phone service is available for a monthly price of $20.

Through June 1, Verizon will continue to offer the new streaming service Disney+ to its unlimited wireless customers, as well as new Fios home internet and 5G home internet customers, for free for 12 months.
