Benson Elliot Capital Management LLP's latest pan-European value-added real estate fund surpassed its €800 million fundraising target at final close, collecting a total of €836 million, PERE News reported.
Benson Elliot Real Estate Partners V, which had a hard cap of €850 million, is now the London-based private equity real estate firm's biggest fund to date. Benson Elliot closed its predecessor fund in the series at €634 million.
Benson Elliot Real Estate Partners V attracted almost all of the capital in 2018, but the firm decided to keep the fund open until early 2019, the news outlet noted.
The fund's limited partners comprised some 40 institutional investors, according to the report, and approximately 40% and 35% of the capital came from the U.S. and Europe, respectively, with the rest coming from the Middle East and Asia.
