Indian Sucrose Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, amounted to 13.3 million rupees, compared with income of 4.7 million rupees in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.
The normalized profit margin declined to negative 2.6% from 1.3% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 48.5% on an annual basis to 518.0 million rupees from 348.9 million rupees, and total operating expenses increased 66.2% from the prior-year period to 506.9 million rupees from 304.9 million rupees.
Reported net income totaled a loss of 21.8 million rupees, compared with income of 7.8 million rupees in the prior-year period.
As of Feb. 16, US$1 was equivalent to 62.15 Indian rupees.
