Peru's deputy economy minister César Liendo resigned after nine months in the post, two days after David Tuesta quit as economy minister, Gestión reported June 6.
Liendo's term started on Sept. 20, 2017, according to the report. However, his departure will only take effect once a replacement for Tuesta steps in as economy minister and signs Liendo's resignation, El Comercio added.
Former Agriculture Minister José Arista and former Deputy Finance Minister Carlos Oliva are reportedly two out of three candidates eyed to replace Tuesta.
