SoCalEd seeks clean energy resources in Ventura, Santa Barbara, Calif. areas

Southern California Edison Co. is seeking proposals for new clean energy resources to specifically meet the capacity needs of its electrical system in the Moorpark subarea of its electrical system in California.

The Edison International subsidiary wants resources connecting to the Moorpark, Santa Clara and Goleta substations, comprising the Moorpark subarea. The electrical system in the area is called the Big Creek/Ventura local reliability area, according to a Feb. 28 news release. Resources connecting to the Goleta substation will help meet resiliency goals in Goleta and Santa Barbara, according to the news release.

The preferred resource products include demand response, permanent load shift, energy efficiency and renewable generation or an energy storage hybrid.

A bidder's conference is scheduled for March 15 at 1 p.m. PT. Additional details will be provided to those who register on the request for proposals website.
