Japan industrial production climbs 4.1% in February

Japan's seasonally adjusted industrial production rose 4.1% month over month to 103.4 in February, preliminary data from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry showed.

The report noted that industrial production is "picking up slowly," with production expected to rise 0.9% in March and 5.2% in April.

Shipments and inventories went up 2.2% and 0.9% on a monthly basis, respectively, while inventory ratio declined 0.1%.

Meanwhile, on an annual basis, the original index rose 1.4% to 100.3.
