Charoen Pokphand profit misses consensus by 22.6% in Q4

Charoen Pokphand Indonesia said its normalized net income for the fourth quarter came to 26.74 rupiah per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 34.56 rupiah per share.

EPS climbed year over year from 7 sen.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 438.40 billion rupiah, an increase from 1.10 billion rupiah in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 5.1% from 0.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed year over year to 7.592 trillion rupiah from 7.367 trillion rupiah, and total operating expenses declined on an annual basis to 6.855 trillion rupiah from 7.170 trillion rupiah.

Reported net income rose on an annual basis to 586.71 billion rupiah, or 35.78 rupiah per share, from 33.26 billion rupiah, or 2.03 rupiah per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 83.86 rupiah per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate of 114.46 rupiah.

EPS rose from 80.24 rupiah in the prior year.

Normalized net income was 1.375 trillion rupiah, an increase from 1.316 trillion rupiah in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue rose year over year to 30.108 trillion rupiah from 29.150 trillion rupiah, and total operating expenses totaled 26.708 trillion rupiah, compared with 26.513 trillion rupiah in the year-earlier period.

The company said reported net income rose 5.2% on an annual basis to 1.837 trillion rupiah, or 112.02 rupiah per share, in the full year, from 1.746 trillion rupiah, or 106.47 rupiah per share.

As of March 29, US$1 was equivalent to 13,367.50 rupiah.
