Kura fiscal Q2 profit falls YOY

Kura Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended April 30 amounted to ¥46.00 per share, a decline of 8.4% from ¥50.21 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥908.1 million, a decrease of 12.6% from ¥1.04 billion in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 3.6% from 4.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 5.1% on an annual basis to ¥25.02 billion from ¥23.81 billion, and total operating expenses rose 6.8% year over year to ¥23.71 billion from ¥22.21 billion.

Reported net income fell 9.6% year over year to ¥891.0 million, or ¥45.13 per share, from ¥986.0 million, or ¥47.63 per share.

As of June 12, US$1 was equivalent to ¥123.29.
