Air New Zealand Ltd. intends to purchase eight 787-10 jets from Boeing Co. at a "significant discount" to current list prices.
The deal would have been valued at $2.7 billion at list prices.
The agreement includes an option to increase the orders to up to 20 units, Air New Zealand said in a statement. Delivery is expected between late-2022 and 2027.
Part of the Dreamliner family, the 787-10 is 224 feet long and can serve up to 330 passengers in a standard two-class configuration, according to a Boeing release.
