Som Distilleries & Breweries profit misses consensus by 33.8% in fiscal Q3

Som Distilleries & Breweries Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, amounted to 94 Indian paise per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 1.42 rupees per share.

EPS declined 11.4% year over year from 1.06 rupees.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 25.8 million rupees, a decrease of 11.9% from 29.3 million rupees in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 6.6% from 7.7% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed year over year to 392.1 million rupees from 377.9 million rupees, and total operating expenses rose year over year to 343.0 million rupees from 331.0 million rupees.

Reported net income declined 11.6% on an annual basis to 33.2 million rupees, or 1.21 rupees per share, from 37.6 million rupees, or 1.36 rupees per share.

As of Feb. 12, US$1 was equivalent to 62.20 Indian rupees.
