Fortuna Silver Mines Inc. said Aug. 19 that it halted operations at the San Jose silver-gold mine in Mexico after an underground scooptram driver died in an accident. There were no other injuries.

The mine stoppage will last for one day, while activities in the area of the accident were suspended.

Fortuna Silver said it notified the government and local authorities immediately, and an investigation is underway.
