Macquarie Capital, R/GA Ventures launch platform to 'accelerate' industries

Macquarie Capital (USA) Inc. is partnering with R/GA Ventures LLC for the launch of a new platform that would identify and promote companies "with the potential to accelerate industries" including utilities, transportation and environmental services.

Macquarie Capital Venture Studio, with R/GA, said in a Jan. 31 news release they are seeking to identify companies of various stages of growth and business models, with a focus on interests including energy and renewables, utilities, transportation, batteries and other storage technologies. According to the platform's website, Venture Studio is offering yearlong engagements that help industry leaders accelerate innovation through exposure to emerging technologies. The program will help clients identify their strategic objectives and goals, and identify technologies to address them.

"We're looking for entrepreneurs who have developed products and services that have the power to increase efficacy, efficiency, and sustainability across the entire sector," Michael Silverton, Head of Macquarie Capital Americas, said in a news release.

Held at R/GA and Macquarie Capital headquarters in New York City, applications started the week of Jan. 29 and will roll throughout the year. The first program module will begin in May and will culminate in spring 2019 with a demonstration event where companies will present to investors and industry executives.
