San-A Co. fiscal Q3 profit climbs 15.3% YOY

San-A Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Nov. 30, 2014, was ¥52.04 per share, an increase of 15.3% from ¥45.15 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥1.66 billion, a gain of 15.3% from ¥1.44 billion in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 4.3% from 3.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased on an annual basis to ¥38.96 billion from ¥37.50 billion, and total operating expenses rose year over year to ¥36.22 billion from ¥35.08 billion.

Reported net income rose 12.5% year over year to ¥1.62 billion, or ¥50.81 per share, from ¥1.44 billion, or ¥45.18 per share.
