Encounter Resources Ltd. secured two new projects and is assessing them under the existing project generation alliance with Newcrest Mining Ltd.
The Aileron project in Western Australia is prospective for gold-copper, and hosts a discrete magnetic anomaly consistent with the scale of an Ernest Henry or Carrapateena style system. Following the grant of the tenement, the company plans to complete a heritage survey ahead of diamond drilling to test the anomaly, it said March 21.
Meanwhile, Encounter has lodged additional applications along strike, expanding the Phillipson Range prospect in Western Australia. The project consists of three large tenements spanning 1,500 square kilometers, with the initial tenement secured in September 2016. The company expects the initial tenement to be granted in July, following which a heritage assessment and further geochemical sampling will be undertaken to refine a geochemical anomaly.
Encounter entered the project generation alliance with Newcrest in July 2017 to generate project opportunities within an agreed area in Western Australia.
The companies will form a 50/50 joint venture over any projects approved for further exploration by both parties.
