South State Bank names SVP; Univest director retires

* South Carolina-based South State Bank appointed Trent Drafts senior vice president.

He joined South State, a subsidiary of South State Corp., in 2010.

* Paul Gregory Shelly retired as a director of Univest Corp. of Pennsylvania and unit Univest Bank and Trust Co. on Dec. 1. He has reached the mandatory retirement date.

A March 17 proxy statement indicates that Shelly is retired president of Shellys US LBM LLC.

* Broadway National Bank named Greg Barnes senior vice president of retail product and digital experience, according to its blog.

His financial services experience includes 18 years as a marketing officer at community-based financial institutions.

The San Antonio-based bank is a unit of Broadway Bancshares Inc.
