The Federal Reserve Bank of New York reported that median inflation expectations in December 2019 increased by 0.1 percentage point to 2.5% at the one-year horizon.
Median three-year-ahead inflation expectations were unchanged at 2.5%.
Median home price change expectations also remained unchanged at 3.0%, which is similar to levels observed throughout most of 2019.
The median one-year-ahead expected price change for a college education and for rent increased to 5.9% and 5.3% from 5.5% and 5.2%, respectively.
The median one-year-ahead price change expectations for medical care and food remained flat.
One-year-ahead expectations and perceptions about households' financial situations were mostly stable in December 2019.
