Nature's Sunshine Products Q2 profit falls 26.5% YOY

Nature's Sunshine Products Inc. said its normalized net income for the second quarter was 18 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 18 cents per share.

EPS decreased 38.0% year over year from 29 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $3.5 million, a decrease of 26.5% from $4.7 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 2.7% from 5.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue declined 12.5% on an annual basis to $81.2 million from $92.8 million, and total operating expenses fell 10.8% from the prior-year period to $76.0 million from $85.2 million.

Reported net income decreased 29.9% on an annual basis to $2.5 million, or 13 cents per share, from $3.6 million, or 22 cents per share.
