Banco Santander SA has hired a World Bank expert Josep Julià as a senior adviser to help it reduce its bad loan portfolio, Expansión reported on Oct. 11.
The report said the bank wants to speed up cleaning up its balance sheet in the coming months, and that Julià is a renowned expert in the field.
According to his LinkedIn profile, he is currently global head of the distressed asset investment group at the World Bank's International Finance Corp. in Washington, D.C.
