Amazon.com Inc. launched Amazon Prime Music in India, Reuters reports.
The rollout of the music streaming service, a move aimed to lure more customers to the company's e-commerce platform in India, will be free of charge for Prime members, according to the report.
In preparation for the launch, Amazon earlier this month struck a deal with Indian music label T-Series to add its content catalog of more than 150,000 tracks to Amazon Prime Music.
Amazon Seller Services Pvt. Ltd., or Amazon India, also reportedly plans to expand the Prime subscription service in the country and will offer more than 25 million products at a delivery speed of one or two days, from 11 million offered earlier.
Amazon has so far infused about 81.5 billion rupees in Amazon India in the 2017-2018 financial year, including the 19.50 billion Indian rupees the parent company invested in the unit in January.
