Sekisui House Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended Jan. 31 was ¥50.47 per share, a gain of 13.3% from ¥44.55 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥36.11 billion, a gain of 12.3% from ¥32.16 billion in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 5.9% from 5.9% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 11.3% year over year to ¥608.64 billion from ¥547.08 billion, and total operating expenses increased 11.6% year over year to ¥552.88 billion from ¥495.61 billion.
Reported net income increased 17.6% year over year to ¥34.10 billion, or ¥47.66 per share, from ¥29.00 billion, or ¥40.18 per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥132.78 per share, a gain of 15.8% from ¥114.64 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥95.67 billion, a rise of 15.6% from ¥82.79 billion in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue grew 6.0% year over year to ¥1.913 trillion from ¥1.805 trillion, and total operating expenses rose 5.6% on an annual basis to ¥1.766 trillion from ¥1.673 trillion.
The company said reported net income grew 13.1% on an annual basis to ¥90.22 billion, or ¥125.22 per share, in the full year, from ¥79.80 billion, or ¥110.50 per share.
