Kameda Seika Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 amounted to ¥47.82 per share, a decline of 8.0% from ¥51.99 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥1.01 billion, a decrease of 8.0% from ¥1.10 billion in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin fell to 4.2% from 4.5% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue decreased year over year to ¥23.82 billion from ¥24.12 billion, and total operating expenses totaled ¥22.55 billion, compared with ¥22.61 billion in the prior-year period.
Reported net income increased 80.3% on an annual basis to ¥1.28 billion, or ¥60.80 per share, from ¥711.0 million, or ¥33.72 per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥152.42 per share, a gain of 21.4% from ¥125.59 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥3.21 billion, an increase of 21.4% from ¥2.65 billion in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue increased on an annual basis to ¥94.85 billion from ¥92.83 billion, and total operating expenses rose year over year to ¥90.85 billion from ¥89.84 billion.
The company said reported net income increased 38.2% year over year to ¥3.32 billion, or ¥157.31 per share, in the full year, from ¥2.40 billion, or ¥113.81 per share.
