NJ governor names acting banking, insurance commissioner

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy has appointed Marlene Caride as acting commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance, effective Jan. 16, Business Insurance reported.

Caride will serve as acting commissioner until confirmed by the New Jersey State Senate. Caride previously was a member of the New Jersey General Assembly. She succeeds Richard Badolato, who had served as commissioner since June 2016.
