Total U.S. nuclear plant availability increased early Jan. 23 to 96.92%, up from 96.62% on Jan. 20 and still above the 95.44% reported on the same day a year ago.
Providing output with a boost was increased output at Tennessee Valley Authority's Sequoyah 1 reactor in Tennessee, which was ramped to 100% as of early Jan. 23, up from 44% on Jan. 20.
Conversely, Southern Co.'s Hatch 1 in Georgia saw production cut from 100% on Jan. 20 to 60% as of early Jan. 23.
