Nuclear update: US output rises as Turkey Point 3, DC Cook ramp up

Total U.S. nuclear plant availability rose early Nov. 29 to 93.81%, up from 92.76% on Nov. 28 and remaining above the 91.87% reported on the same day in 2016.

Lifting total output was increased production at two recently restarted reactors. NextEra Energy Inc.'s Turkey Point 3 in Florida was at 100% power early Nov. 29, up from 3% on Nov. 28. The Donald C. Cook 1 plant in Michigan, which is owned by American Electric Power Co. Inc., was at 49% early Nov. 29, climbing from 20% on Nov. 28.

As of early Nov. 29, four units are still offline.
