Apple Inc. reported an accident involving one of its self-driving vehicles in California, Bloomberg News reported Aug. 31, citing a filing with the California Department of Motor Vehicles.
The vehicle, a Lexus SUV, was in self-driving mode when it was rear-ended by another vehicle while it was preparing to move onto a highway in the Bay Area called the Lawrence Expressway, according to the report.
In March, Uber Technologies Inc. reached a settlement with the family of a woman killed after getting hit by one of its self-driving vehicles in Tempe, Ariz.
