Cheniere's Q2 earnings fall short of analyst expectations despite YOY increase

U.S. LNG exporter Cheniere Energy Inc. on Aug. 8 reported second-quarter adjusted EBITDA of $615.0 million, up from $531.0 million a year earlier.

The S&P Global Market Intelligence consensus adjusted EBITDA estimate was $652.6 million.

Cheniere reported a net loss of $114.0 million, compared with a loss of $18.0 million a year earlier.

Cheniere Energy Partners LP on the same day posted second-quarter adjusted EBITDA of $591.0 million, up from $562.0 million a year earlier. The S&P Global Market Intelligence consensus estimate of adjusted EBITDA was $606.5 million.

Cheniere Energy Partners reported net income of $232.0 million, a drop from $281.0 million a year earlier.
