RELX Plc said its first-half normalized net income amounted to 26 Great British pence per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 35 pence per share.
EPS rose 19.4% year over year from 22 pence.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was £532.4 million, a gain of 16.7% from £456.1 million in the prior-year period.
Total revenue climbed 14.2% year over year to £3.72 billion from £3.26 billion, and total operating expenses grew 13.6% on an annual basis to £2.79 billion from £2.46 billion.
Reported net income increased 23.8% year over year to £691.0 million, or 34 pence per share, from £558.0 million, or 27 pence per share.
