Heiwado Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Aug. 20 came to ¥39.87 per share, an increase of 10.7% from ¥36.03 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥2.20 billion, a gain of 10.7% from ¥1.99 billion in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 2.1% from 2.0% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue rose year over year to ¥103.63 billion from ¥101.37 billion, and total operating expenses increased year over year to ¥100.15 billion from ¥98.11 billion.
Reported net income came to ¥2.10 billion, or ¥38.04 per share, compared to ¥2.11 billion, or ¥38.13 per share, in the prior-year period.
As of Oct. 1, US$1 was equivalent to ¥109.55.
