Delta Corp. fiscal Q3 profit falls YOY

Delta Corp. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, amounted to 7 Indian paise per share, a decline of 85.6% from 46 paise per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 14.2 million rupees, a decrease of 86.6% from 106.1 million rupees in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 1.8% from 11.7% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue decreased 10.5% year over year to 809.5 million rupees from 904.7 million rupees, and total operating expenses climbed 5.4% on an annual basis to 697.5 million rupees from 662.0 million rupees.

Reported net income totaled a loss of 4.3 million rupees, or a loss of 2 paise per share, compared to income of 153.3 million rupees, or 67 paise per share, in the year-earlier period.

As of Jan. 27, US$1 was equivalent to 61.36 Indian rupees.
