Kotmale Holdings PLC said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, amounted to 64 Sri Lankan cents per share, an increase of 12.0% from 57 cents per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 20.1 million rupees, a gain of 12.4% from 17.9 million rupees in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 5.7% from 4.8% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue declined 5.5% year over year to 355.2 million rupees from 375.9 million rupees, and total operating expenses declined 6.1% from the prior-year period to 334.9 million rupees from 356.9 million rupees.
Reported net income increased 12.6% from the prior-year period to 22.8 million rupees, or 73 cents per share, from 20.3 million rupees, or 65 cents per share.
As of Feb. 12, US$1 was equivalent to 132.72 Sri Lankan rupees.
