Unicharm Corp. said its normalized net income for the second quarter amounted to ¥15.41 per share, an increase of 53.0% from ¥10.08 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥9.27 billion, an increase of 50.9% from ¥6.14 billion in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 5.1% from 4.3% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 26.9% on an annual basis to ¥181.25 billion from ¥142.86 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 27.3% on an annual basis to ¥163.60 billion from ¥128.47 billion.
Reported net income grew 58.4% on an annual basis to ¥10.12 billion, or ¥16.82 per share, from ¥6.39 billion, or ¥10.48 per share.
