Euronext's March average daily transaction value down 13.0% YOY

The average daily transaction value on Euronext NV's cash-order book amounted to approximately €7.72 billion in March, down 13.0% from a year earlier and up 5.6% from February.

Activity on exchange-traded funds reached an average daily transaction value of €215 million in March, down 30.1% from a year ago and down 0.9% from the previous month. The pan-European exchange recorded 1,185 ETF listings as of March-end, compared to 1,150 at the end of 2018.

The average daily volume on equity index derivatives stood at 233,574 contracts, down 7.3% from March 2018. The ADV on individual equity derivatives reached 318,375 contracts, up 10.3% on a yearly basis, while the ADV on commodity derivatives declined 3.3% year over year to 45,585 contracts.

The overall ADV on derivatives reached 597,534 contracts at March-end, up 1.7% from a year ago. The ADV on the spot foreign exchange market of FastMatch, which has been operating as a Euronext company since August 2017, stood at $21.04 billion in March, up 12.1% from a year ago and up 16.0% from February.
