DDS Inc. Q1 loss narrows YOY

DDSInc. said its first-quarter normalized net income was a loss of ¥1.68 per share, compared with a loss of ¥2.91 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥60.6 million, compared with a loss of ¥98.1 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to negative 30.0% from negative 82.5% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 69.7% on an annual basis to ¥202.0 million from ¥119.0 million, and total operating expenses increased 5.1% on an annual basis to ¥309.0 million from ¥294.0 million.

Reported net income totaled a loss of ¥97.0 million, or a loss of ¥2.70 per share, compared to a loss of ¥157.0 million, or a loss of ¥4.66 per share, in the year-earlier period.
