BP taps Petrofac-SOCAR JV for work in Azerbaijan, Georgia

Oil major BP PLC granted a three-year project management services contract to a joint venture comprising Petrofac Ltd. and the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic, or SOCAR, to support its operations in Azerbaijan and Georgia.

According to a Dec. 16 news release from Petrofac, the contract will cover onshore and offshore activities of BP's operated projects in the Caspian Sea. These include the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli field, the Shah Deniz gas condensate field, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, the South Caucasus pipeline and the Western Route export pipeline.

The contract value and other financial details were not disclosed.

Petrofac is an oilfield service company headquartered in St. Helier, Jersey.
