MFS Investment Management named new regional heads for North America and Europe and new research directors in its fixed-income department.
MFS is also creating new positions within its fixed-income research team.
The company named Pilar Gomez-Bravo, based in London, director of the fixed-income department in Europe. She will also serve as a lead portfolio manager on the global aggregate suite of strategies, effective April 5. She will continue to serve as the lead portfolio manager for the global credit portfolios.
The company named Joshua Marston director of the fixed-income department in North America. Marston will continue to serve as a portfolio manager for the U.S. aggregate suite, Canadian core plus, and U.S. long duration credit strategies as well.
MFS appointed London-based fixed-income analyst Lior Jassur as director of the fixed-income research department in Europe and Melissa Haskell the director of fixed-income research in North America. Haskell was previously the head of municipal credit research.
Further, four new directors of research will report to Haskell: Gerald Pendleton, director of corporate research for North America; David Cobey, director of high-yield research; Jay Mitchell, director of emerging market corporate research; and Megan Poplowski, director of municipal research.
The company is also creating a new role, fixed-income strategic solutions analyst. Sean Cameron, currently a quantitative research analyst, will assume this role.
In addition, the company carved out a formal mentoring program for its fixed-income research team, with research analyst Michael Pandolfi leading as director of associate research.
