Nebraska's First State closes Wallco acquisition

In Nebraska, First State Holding Co. of Lincoln has closed its acquisition of Nehawka-based Wallco Inc.

Wallco's Nehawka Bank had $15.2 million in assets at the end of 2017. First State's First State Bank Nebraska had $478.3 million. The merger closed Feb. 20, First State Bank Executive Vice President Jeff Kanger said, and the bank is "working to ensure both new staff and customers have a smooth transition." First State entered Cass County, Neb., with the transaction.
